Today's Kudos to you spotlight is on our friends, fellow moms, and founders of WeNatal, Vida and Ronit. Read on below to read our interview.

Vida and Ronit of WeNatal

What motivated you to start WeNatal

After going through pregnancy loss ourselves, we couldn’t ignore how under-served the fertility space was. The focus is almost always on women, even though men contribute half the DNA. Fertility is a team sport, and both partners deserve support from day one.

WeNatal focuses on Trimester Zero (the 3-6 months before conception when egg and sperm quality are shaped by lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, stress, and environment). And it doesn’t stop there; WeNatal is designed to walk with you through the entire journey: preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum.

We also wanted to raise the bar. Just like you wouldn’t want toxins in your baby’s diaper, you shouldn’t have junk in your prenatal. Too many prenatals are full of fillers, additives, and under-dosed nutrients. We created clean, science-backed formulas in the most bioavailable forms, so couples can give themselves and their future baby the best possible foundation.

What’s something most people don’t know about prenatal supplements?

That not all prenatals are created equal. Many are incomplete or have below standard dosages on key nutrients like choline, one of the most important for fetal brain development. Because diets are often low in choline to begin with, this gap matters. We designed WeNatal to include research-aligned, meaningful doses of choline (and other crucial nutrients), so parents aren’t left playing nutritional catch-up when it matters most.

What’s the #1 thing to look for in a great prenatal?

Look beyond the label. It’s not just what’s in it but how your body can use it. That means active forms of nutrients like methylfolate (vs. folic acid), methylcobalamin for B12, and chelated minerals that are gentler and more absorbable. And don’t settle for bare minimum amounts (seek out real, effective doses that actually move the needle). With the guidance of leading nutritionists and medical advisors, we built WeNatal to deliver exactly that: meaningful nutrition in forms that are easier on the body and better for the future.

What’s the #1 thing to avoid in a prenatal?

The extras your body doesn’t need: synthetic dyes, fillers, binders, and artificial colors. They don’t add value and can create an unnecessary burden. Instead, look for formulas that are third-party tested, non-GMO, and allergen-free. At WeNatal, transparency is non-negotiable, we publish third-party testing results for every single batch so couples can feel confident in what they’re putting in their bodies.

What’s the biggest misconception people have about prenatal supplements?

Two big ones:

Timing: Prenatals aren’t just for when you see two pink lines. They should start at least three months before conception to build nutrient reserves and support egg and sperm quality. That’s why the Trimester Zero focus is so crucial.

Who they’re for: Prenatals aren’t just for women. Sperm take 70–90 days to mature, and male nutrition & lifestyle directly affects count, motility, morphology, and DNA integrity. That’s why we created a dedicated men’s formula with targeted antioxidants, because healthy babies start with healthy sperm and eggs.

One word to describe your experience as a mom and startup founder?

Ronit: Juggle! Some days it’s color-coded calendars and cold coffee; other days it’s taking a launch call from the school pickup lane. But the through-line is purpose. Building WeNatal while raising kids keeps our mission personal: every decision ladders up to healthier families, including our own.

Vida: Empowered. Motherhood and entrepreneurship both test you daily, but they also remind you of your strength. Balancing the two has shown me how much power we have to create change — for our families, and for the families we serve.

What’s one thing you’d give yourself kudos for this past week (as a mom)?

Ronit: Letting go (on purpose). My husband took over things I usually do, like a doctor’s visit and a birthday party run, and I didn’t micromanage. Sharing the load made our home feel more like a team

Vida: Embracing my husband being “Mr. Fun.” Instead of trying to manage every detail, I let him take the lead with the kids and leaned into his playful energy. It created so much joy in our house, and reminded me that different parenting styles are part of the magic.
